Background
SpaceInvader is a Manchester-based interior design consultancy specialising in transformative, people-first spaces in the hospitality, civic, and commercial sectors. After relocating to a new design studio in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, they needed furniture that spoke the same design language as their work. So they chose DBI Furniture Solutions to fully furnish their space, drawing on our range of UK-manufactured, design-led pieces to bring the studio to life.

The Brief
Every piece in the new studio was chosen to support the SpaceInvader team, from how they moved between tasks to how openly they could collaborate, giving the space a distinct identity and feel. Senator Ousby seating anchors the task areas, offering ergonomic support throughout a full working day, and is paired with Senator Chemistry tables, giving the focus area a clean, uncluttered design that doesn’t clash with the team’s creative work.
In the open-plan areas, Allermuir’s Curve Lounge Chair and Batan tables create a softer, more relaxed setting for informal meetings and creative exchange, spaces where ideas can develop away from the desk. The breakfast bar was finished with Allermuir Bastille barstools, giving the studio a casual gathering point for collaboration or independent work outside the usual desk setting, while pieces from the Allermuir Silta and FortySeven ranges are woven through the rest of the space, tying the different zones together with a consistent sense of quality and durability.
